Afghan government supports Trumps recent tweet about Pakistan

The Afghan government reacted at the recent Twitter post by the US President Donald Trump in which he once again harshly criticized Pakistan for harboring terrorist groups.

A presidential spokesman Shah Hussain Murtazawi said the justified stance of the Afghan government nation regarding the sources and reasons of the ongoing conflict has been proved due to the joint and consolidated efforts by the Afghan and US officials as well as the international allies of Afghanistan.

He said the world leaders now have an understanding regarding the roots of the Afghan conflict and insisted that this will help the Afghan government to engage on government to government level with Pakistan for peace process.

According to Murtazawi, the capabilities of the two nations in this regard have been discussed in the past as the Afghan government is firm on its stance for peace talks.

However, he said no sign has been seen so far to show a strong will by the Pakistani side in this regard.

President Trump on Monday criticized Pakistan in strong words for harboring the terrorist groups despite receiving billions in aid to support the counter-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan.

The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more! Trump said in a Twitter post on Monday.

The Afghan and US officials have long been insisting that the leadership councils of the Taliban and the notorious Haqqani terrorist network are based in the key cities of Pakistan where from they plan and coordinate attacks in Afghanistan.
